We Are The leading animal welfare charity in Kenya
Dedicated to preventing cruelty and promoting the humane treatment of all animals.

What We Do
We are concerned about the well-being and protection of all animals and their communities in Kenya. We focus our work around 4 important and underserved priorities that we believe will help to deal with the underlying causes of suffering as well as urgent immediate needs. The needs are very great. We have chosen our focus areas bearing in mind that we cannot do everything and that we need to make the most of limited resources.
At KSPCA, We Believe
that happy, healthy communities are only possible when our animals are happy and healthy too.
Established over a century ago, KSPCA has expanded its reach with headquarters in Nairobi and additional presence in Naivasha, Nanyuki, Watamu and Mombasa.
The organization relies soley on volunteers, fundraising efforts, and donations to fulfill its mission.

To care for animals and protect them from stress and cruelty through rescue operations, community education, and enforcement of animal welfare laws in Kenya
Our Values
In Kenya we are faced with many development challenges. In an environment where many communities live with extreme poverty and are vulnerable to emergency shocks, it is upon us all to work for the sustainable development of our society in ways that support and protect the most vulnerable.
At the KSPCA, we believe that productive, happy, healthy communities are only possible when our animals are happy and healthy too. Many communities rely on animals for their livelihoods, for their security and their mental wellbeing. The health and welfare of animals is critical for productivity, safe food systems and human health. People are also at risk when unhealthy animals spread diseases and present a threat to safety. We recognise that animal welfare is vital for human wellbeing because of their economic significance and because of the interconnectedness of health, environmental
sustainability, and ethical responsibility – the idea often described as “one health.” In addition to our recognition that animal welfare is a crucial element of economic development and human well-being, we also believe that treating animals with respect and reducing their suffering aligns with human values of compassion and empathy. It reflects a society’s ethical standards and impacts how humans interact with one another.
The values of the KSPCA are compassion and empathy, integrity and transparency, commitment and activism, expertise, and respect for animals, people and the rule of law. We will hold ourselves accountable to these values and invite others to hold us accountable also.
Governance
The KSPCA is a not-for-profit trust registered in Kenya with certificate of incorporation PS 445/1. Established as a membership society, the KSPCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Trustees elected by members at an annual AGM.
